Welcome to my favorite region in Arizona

The Southwest Valley - Goodyear and Buckeye

The cities of Goodyear and Buckeye are located in the Southwest region of the West Valley. While both cities continue to add big box development along the freeway, Goodyear’s main downtown is located along North Litchfield Road (exit 128 N. Litchfield Rd). Concerning Buckeye, the main downtown is located around Monroe Avenue (exit 113). However, many restaurants and shopping facilities are also located on Watson Road (exit 114).

Goodyear
Goodyear is nicely embedded in the White Tank Mountains and easy accessible due to its convenient location just off the I-10. Getting around and orienting itself in Goodyear is quite easy as the entire downtown is based around North Litchfield Road, which is the main road. The Tourism Information Centre is located in the City’s Chamber of Commerce on North Litchfield Road. The way there is clearly marked from I-10. Goodyear, as mentioned above, is surrounded by mountains and is, therefore, a good starting point for excursions to the nature of Arizona. And for those who are exhausted and hungry after a nice day in the mountains, Goodyear offers a wide variety of Food & Beverage options to choose from.

Buckeye
The city of Buckeye has, although located only a short drive from Goodyear, a completely different atmosphere. In Buckeye, the Mexican influence is omnipresent which gives the city a nice, Latin American flair. Downtown is located around Monroe Avenue, where various restaurants, convenient stores, accommodation opportunities and shops can be found. Concerning the Food and Beverage offer, Buckeye is also dominated by the Mexican cuisine which gives guests the opportunity to make the acquaintance of a complete new culinary experience and also meet local Mexicans.

Welcome to my world!

My name is Bianca and I was born and raised in Graz, Austria. I am a Tourism Management major and I love travelling around the world. My favorite type of travel is city sightseeing and cruises. I like to meet new people, use the languages I learnt in a real setting, getting into new cultures, try new food and just everything about travelling.

This year I spent almost entirely abroad. My big adventure started on January 20 at the airport in Vienna where I took off to Riga, Latvia where I spent 5 months working as a Project Manager for Incentive Travels for the largest Tour Operator in Scandinavia and the Baltic Region. I travelled every weekend to another city such as Helsinki, Tallinn, Vilnius and Stockholm. Part of my internship was also to work for some time in Russia. So, I could also visit St. Petersburg and Moscow and got to know a totally knew culture and also used my hardly acquired Russian skills for the first time. It was so exciting!

After a quick visit at home to pick up my visa for the US, I headed over to Guadalajara, Mexico via Washington DC and Mexico DF. I spent 5 amazing weeks in Mexico, taking a summer course on International Management and, of course, travelling. After my time in Mexico, I arrived in the States on 31. July. The first and so far best city I visited was Chicago before finally arriving in Phoenix. So far, I visited also Washington DC, Boston, Providence, Baltimore, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas and San Francisco. Soon I am also going to LA and San Diego to explore a bit more of California.

My plans for next year??? Travelling to new places like China, Australia, New Zealand and the Fiji Islands. The problem: Time and Money but I am sure I can solve this problem!
